Ghana’s airports among the best in Africa – Prof. Jane Naana

Vice President Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has praised Ghana’s infrastructure development, highlighting the country's airports as among the best on the African continent.
Speaking at the 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogue (APD), where she delivered the keynote address, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized the critical role of Ghana’s modernized airports in facilitating regional and international travel.
“Our airports are among the best on the continent, I must admit. Our ports are being modernized to facilitate trade, and we are expanding our road and rural networks to connect key economic zones,” she stated.
She also underscored Ghana’s investments in energy infrastructure, aimed at providing reliable and affordable power to industries and households.
Commending President John Dramani Mahama for his dedication to infrastructure development, she described it as a key driver of Ghana’s economic transformation.
However, the Vice President acknowledged that while Ghana and Africa had made significant progress, there was still more to be done.
She emphasized the need for further investments in digital infrastructure, noting that mobile technology had already revolutionized financial inclusion across the continent.
