The Ghana Gold Board (GOLDBOD) has issued a reminder to all licensed gold buying operators regarding compliance with reporting obligations under their licences.

In Compliance Notice No. GOLDBOD/2026/04, the board stated that some licensees have failed to submit monthly transaction reports detailing daily gold purchases, including quantity, purity, value, and other related activities.

GoldBod emphasised that these reports are mandatory and must be submitted within 15 days after the end of each month. Specifically, reports for January 2026 were due by 15 February 2026.

“Failure to comply with any term or condition of a licence is a ground for revocation and constitutes an offence under Section 63 of the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025,” the Compliance Directorate warned.

The board reiterated its commitment to enforcing the laws and regulations governing the gold trading sector in the spirit of accountability and transparency.

Gold buying licensees are urged to ensure timely submission of all reports to avoid penalties or potential revocation of their licences.
