New Minerals C'ssion Board meets Otumfuo

The new board members for the Minerals Commission have been presented to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during a courtesy call on the monarch on Thursday, 13 January 2022.
As part of their activities, the Board Chairperson, Mrs Barbara Oteng Gyasi, informed the traditional leader that they are embarking on a Konongo Reclamation and Community Mining project and also focusing on the expansion of offices in Kumasi in order to improve field job inspection.
The Asantehene reminded the board that the practice of investors gaining greater shares during investment must be reconsidered so that a fair share for the Commission, as mineral owners, will be secured.
He said they must also ensure that the right equipment and training meant for mining are adopted so that community mining can improve in the country.
