ACP outdooring the support for the movie industry in Ghana

In a significant boost to Ghana’s creative arts sector, Annan Capital Partners (ACP), a sustainability-focused Pan-African boutique investment holding and investment banking advisory house, has teamed up with MiPrime Entertainment to support local film production companies—Kornerstonez Production Limited and Breakthrough Media Studios.

ACP, known for its broad-based approach to venture building, business development, and corporate finance, is extending its support to Ghana’s film industry through strategic investments aimed at amplifying authentic African storytelling and building industry capacity.

The initiative, facilitated by MiPrime Entertainment, marks a landmark moment for stakeholders in Ghana’s film and creative arts space.

Speaking on the partnership, the Director of Kornerstonez Production Limited, Ampong Kwakye, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, highlighting the critical need for financial investment in the creative economy.

“We need investors like ACP and MiPrime Entertainment to come help invest in the creatives.

This gives opportunity to other investors to start supporting creatives,” he noted.

One of the lead actors in the upcoming film No Man of God, celebrated Ghanaian actor Adjetey Annan, underscored the importance of this collaborative effort and its potential to reshape the future of the Ghanaian movie industry.

“I am hoping that this partnership will serve as a beginning of something great. For us to leverage our partnership to come together and push our industry to where it's supposed to be. Thanks to ACP and MiPrime Entertainment for coming on board,” he said.

MiPrime Entertainment, which played a crucial role in brokering and facilitating the partnership on behalf of ACP, sees this as a long-overdue shift in focus towards the untapped potential within Ghana’s creative economy.

Its CEO, Papa Yaw Annan Addo-Boateng, likened the development to the early days of the now-thriving Nigerian film industry.

“We need to do it; that’s how the Nigerians started. We should just get the like-minded people to work with and move forward, so we are very happy to invest in the movie industry,” Papa Yaw stated.

In addition to supporting No Man of God by Kornerstonez Production Limited, ACP has also invested in Redemption, a compelling African story being brought to life by Breakthrough Media Studios.

The dual support signals ACP’s strategic intent to promote indigenous content with global appeal.

This move by ACP and MiPrime Entertainment is being hailed by industry watchers as a refreshing and much-needed step in a sector long plagued by underinvestment.

With the backing of institutions like ACP, there is growing optimism that Ghana’s creative arts, especially film, could emerge as a vital contributor to economic growth, cultural preservation, and youth employment.

ACP continues to position itself not just as a financier but as a development partner, aligning its business solutions with social impact.

Its support for the creative sector is a testament to its belief in the economic viability of storytelling and the transformative power of the arts.

As momentum builds, many in the industry are hopeful that this initiative will trigger a wave of private investment in local content creation, driving innovation and raising the bar for African cinema on the global stage.
