Amedzofe Canopy Walkway: Tourist site to be 'temporarily' closed for 'upgrade' Nov 1-21
Amedzofe Canopy Walkway, Volta Region, will be closed for an "upgrade" exercise in November.
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), via its Facebook page, made the announcement today, Saturday, October 4, 2025.
"We wish to inform our cherished visitors and partners that the Amedzofe Canopy Walkway will undergo a scheduled upgrade from 1st to 21st November 2025. During this period, the walkway will be temporarily closed to the public," the announcement said.
"We kindly encourage tourists to plan their visits outside this timeframe," the announcement advised.
"This maintenance exercise forms part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, comfortable, and truly memorable experience at Amedzofe," the announcement explained.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your understanding," the announcement noted, assuring: "The walkway will reopen in late November 2025, and we look forward to welcoming you back for an unforgettable adventure."
The Amedzofe Canopy Walkway was constructed in January 2022 by an NGO called Herp Conservation Ghana (Herp-Ghana), and opened in December 2022. After taking 259 steps, tourists embark on the adventurous canopy walk. One of the journey's treats is a close-up view of a waterfall.
