Ayawaso West Wuogon seat: I closed the gap in 2020; I’ll win in 2024 – John Dumelo

John Dumelo is confident he will clinch the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections.
“As parliamentary candidate in 2020, we closed the gap from 10,000 to under 1,900 through hard work,” the actor, entrepreneur and politician noted.
“It’s time to take the seat,” he declared, rallying his followers with: “Let’s all get involved."
The actor contested the NDC primaries prior to the 2020 general elections and won.
He, however, lost the main elections to the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
Ms Alhassan, who was then the incumbent polled 39,851 votes, while first timer, Mr Dumelo polled 37,778 votes.
Mr Dumelo announced his intention to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon primaries of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) a second time on Sunday, 26 February 2023.
“After an extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithfuls in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This’s the second coming,” he tweeted.
