Big Akwes says he would pursue Florence Obinim if her marriage ends
Ghanaian actor Big Akwes has openly expressed his admiration for Florence Obinim, the wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim, stating that he would not hesitate to seek a relationship with her if their marriage were to end.
Speaking in a video shared on social media on June 15, 2026, the actor criticized Bishop Obinim for publicly making negative remarks about his wife, arguing that such comments could damage her reputation.
“If Obinim leaves Florence, I will accept her. He doesn’t know what he has and he’s busily disgracing her publicly. If he doesn’t love her anymore, he should say it so that Florence can be free,” Big Akwes said.
He further stated that publicly humiliating Florence and making allegations against her would not stop him from pursuing her if the marriage eventually collapsed.
According to the actor, Florence has been his longtime crush and he has always admired her, although he has respected the fact that she is a married woman.
“She has always been my crush and I admire her so much, but I didn’t know how to go about it. Since Florence Obinim is still his wife, I can’t approach her and tell her I’m in love with her. But the day he divorces her, I will go for her,” he explained.
Big Akwes also urged Bishop Obinim to address any marital challenges privately and maturely instead of discussing them in public.
The actor noted that divorce is not uncommon among public figures and religious leaders, adding that Obinim would not be the first pastor to separate from his spouse if he chooses to do so.
“Many pastors have divorced their wives and moved on with their lives. If Obinim is no longer interested in the marriage, he can divorce and marry another woman. Whatever he says about Florence will not discourage me from loving her,” he added.
