Black Sherif makes directorial debut with 'Yaya performance video'

Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, alias Black Sherif, has added video director to his résumé.
The sensational singer-songwriter and rapper's first work as a video director is for half of his two-track single titled 'Take Care of Yourself Blacko'.
The double A-side single has two songs: Yaya (Brother) and Simmer Down, spanning 6 minutes and 11 seconds.
For Yaya, the Road Boys Association (RBA) and EMPIRE-signee released what he calls a performance music video, Friday, August 11, 2023 – a day after the release of the single.
In the dual-scene video, the Ghanaian star can be seen at the bottom of a storey-building and in a recording studio animatedly performing the instant hit which sees him talking about how he deals with his physical, financial and mental challenges.
"If I face my devils sober, I can't [I'd lose]," the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) Artiste of the Year declares in the pre-hook of Yaya, blatantly revealing he smokes "weed" as part of self-help psychotherapy.

After five days, almost half a million people have streamed the Yaya performance video on YouTube alone.
