DJ Slim questions Kweku Smoke’s decision to feature Shatta Wale at UK concert
Ghanaian media personality DJ Slim has criticized rapper Kweku Smoke for inviting dancehall star Shatta Wale to perform at his recent concert in the United Kingdom.
Speaking in a TikTok video shared on June 2, 2026, DJ Slim expressed disappointment in Kweku Smoke’s decision, arguing that the rapper should not have offered a platform to Shatta Wale given the reported history between them.
According to DJ Slim, the relationship between Kweku Smoke and Shatta Wale has been strained in the past, with alleged conflicts involving the rapper and members of his team. For that reason, he believes it was inappropriate for Kweku Smoke to feature the dancehall musician at the event.
DJ Slim also addressed a separate issue concerning Kweku Smoke’s alleged frustration with him over discussions surrounding the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). He claimed the rapper was unhappy after being left out of conversations and commentary related to the awards scheme.
However, DJ Slim maintained that Smoke had no justification for feeling offended, noting that the rapper had previously stated that he was not interested in award-related matters.
“Kweku Smoke is angry with me because I made a post about the TGMAs and didn’t mention him. Meanwhile, he was the one who said he was not interested in any award,” DJ Slim stated.
He added that if he had been responsible for a social media post involving artists such as Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale, he would have included Kweku Smoke, emphasizing that his disappointment stemmed from the rapper’s recent actions.
