Gospel musician Evangelist Akwasi Nyarko has expressed disappointment at what he describes as neglect from President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), despite composing a song in their honour during the last general election.

In a public appeal on Accra-based No. 1 FM, the artiste, known for his inspirational gospel tracks, said he felt heartbroken after receiving no acknowledgement or support following his musical contribution to the party’s campaign.

According to Evangelist Nyarko, his decision to compose the song was driven by admiration for the President and the NDC’s vision, but the lack of engagement from the party has left him feeling abandoned.

He appealed directly to President Mahama to address his concerns, noting that musicians who dedicate their craft to political causes often make personal and professional sacrifices.

His remarks have sparked discussions on the treatment of creative contributors in political campaigns and the importance of recognising their efforts.
