Ghana Music Awards-USA receiving nominations, adding 2 new categories for 2025 edition

Don’s Music Production, organisers of the Ghana Music Awards-USA (GMA-USA), has announced the scheme is receiving entries for its 2025 edition.
The CEO of Don’s Music Production, Dennis ‘Don D’ Boafo, spoke at a press launch at Airport West Hotel, Accra, on Thursday, January 30.
He underlined GMA-USA was aimed at recognising Ghanaian artistes based generally in the diaspora, and specifically in the US, and emerging acts in Ghana.
He advocated support for Ghanaian music makers at home and around the world, seeing as “the global music space is ripe for Ghanaian talent to take centre stage.
“Let us rally behind our artistes, provide them with the necessary support, and celebrate their unique sound.”
“Together, we can propel Ghanaian music to unprecedented heights and make our mark on the international music scene,” he emphasised.
He indicated the inclusion of brand new categories; Concert of the Year and Emerging Act of the Year, and that submission of entries ended on Saturday, March 15.
The year under review for the 2025 GMA-USA was noted as January 1 to December 31, 2024.
A nominees’ announcement will take place on April 15, before a certificate presentation in May. Online voting will be possible between June 1 and June 30, with Academy and Board voting taking place on July 19, and August 2, respectively.
Eventually, the awards event will take place on August 16, at Celebrity Theatre, Claridge Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
On his part, the Board Chairman of GMA-USA, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo thanked patrons for five years of the scheme, observing, “Ghana Music Awards, USA, will not be here without your support and we are grateful to everyone including the media for the support.”
