Gospel and love as R2Bees drop surprise singles with Killbeatz, MOGBeatz

Entertainment
R2Bees, according to the duo, means 'Refuse To Be Broke'.

Legendary Hiplife duo R2Bees have sprung a pleasant surprise on fans, releasing two new singles that showcase their trusted and timeless style, powered by stellar production from Killbeatz and MOGBeatz.

Leading the drop is Awurade Aye (God Has Done It), an uplifting Ghetto-Gospel offering produced by Grammy-recognised Killbeatz. The song is a soulful reminder of the power of faith, wrapped in warm melodies and reflective lyricism that gladdens the heart.

At the centre of the message is a thought-provoking line from Mugeez: "And if your god doesn't look like mine, it doesn't mean I'm an unbeliever."

The revered singer uses the song, among other things, to advocate faith without exclusion, urging love, understanding, and unity in a world often divided by differences.

When Paeday, also known as Omar Sterling, steps in, the mood deepens. His rap verse leans into patience and perseverance, reminding listeners that breakthroughs do not always come instantly, but they do come.

"Faith moves mountains, it opens doors," the beloved rapper emphasises.

Together, R2Bees turn Awurade Aye into more than just a song; it’s a quiet testimony, a street sermon, and a comforting soundtrack for anyone still believing, still pushing, and still hoping.

On the love-laced record Two Two, the influential duo doubles down on unwavering devotion, offering a tender reassurance to a partner wrestling with doubt. In colloquial Akan, “two two” is an expression describing a restless, wavering mind, and here on the song, love steps in gently to still the uncertainty and second-guessing.

Paeday’s verse is striking in its raw loyalty and emotional courage, as he calmly declares his love transcends gossip, whispers and weaponised secrets.

“They say they have a sextape of yours but I told them I don't care, and I know it's their [diabolic] tactics,” Paeday assures the woman.

“I told them I'll love you till we [are in a] casket.”

Arriving at a moment when the nation is easing into celebration, the releases feel perfectly timed. Awurade Aye reaches inward, warming bruised hearts with faith after a difficult year, while Two Two turns outward, renewing belief in trust, commitment, and enduring romance.

Together, the songs remind listeners that whether through faith or love, steadfastness still heals.

The legendary Killbeatz remains a cornerstone of R2Bees’ success, having played a pivotal role in shaping their sound from the very beginning. He produced many of their early megahits, including Yawa Girl and I Dey Mad in the late 2000s — records that helped launch the duo into mainstream prominence and define an era of Ghanaian music. Killbeatz was given a certificate from the Recording Academy/Grammys for his production work on Ed Sherran's Bibia Be Ye Ye from his Grammy-winning Divide, Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018.

MOGBeatz, on the other hand, represents the new generation of hitmakers. A fresh force in record production, he brings youthful energy and proven chart dominance to the project, adding this release to an already impressive catalogue of hits crafted for superstars such as Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.

Together, the two producers bridge generations, reinforcing R2Bees’ enduring relevance while pushing their sound forward.
