I spent my money promoting Kwame Yogot' – 2Sure expresses disappointment over lack of support
Ghanaian musician 2Sure has expressed disappointment over what he describes as a lack of support and recognition from fellow artist Kwame Yogot despite the role he played in promoting his career.
Speaking on Akwaaba Drive on Accra FM with host Sammy Brown, 2Sure claimed that he invested his own resources in promoting a song he recorded with Kwame Yogot at a time when the rapper was not widely known in the music industry.
According to 2Sure, he financed promotional activities for the collaboration and worked hard to push the song, helping to increase Kwame Yogot's visibility before his music gained mainstream attention and began receiving airplay on television platforms such as 4Syte TV.
The artist alleged that despite his efforts, Kwame Yogot has never publicly acknowledged his contribution or mentioned his name in interviews.
"Before Kwame Yogot became popular and before his music was played on 4Syte, it was my money that we used to promote the song I did with him," 2Sure stated.
He further claimed that the collaboration was his own song and that Kwame Yogot was featured on it, yet the rapper never actively promoted the project.
"I featured him on my song, but he never promoted it. I have never seen him go to any interview and talk about or play the song before," he said.
2Sure stressed that genuine love and support in the music industry should involve helping others gain recognition when the opportunity arises.
"Brotherly love is when, wherever you go, you make sure the person who helped you is recognised. If I have helped you with my money and my resources, you should also be able to help promote my work," he added.
