Rap star Ko-Jo Cue has considered what expansion in his career would look like, after he proceeds on music retirement.

He spoke on YFM, during which time Akosua Hanson asked which part of his artistry he felt was unfinished currently. 

Readily responding, he said when it comes to music, he would cease after "that last project".

The rapper's KANI: A Bantama Story is his sophomore after the classic For My Brothers of 2019.

"Yeah, I just feel strongly that it's something that I have to do, these four albums," he expatiated. "So once that's done, I'm done."

Despite this, Cue affirmed the philosopher in him would surely live on. 

Holding his head up in pensiveness, he thought back on his childhood dreams.

"In the beginning I wanted to be a footballer," he gleefully recalled.

"But what I really am - not even what I want to be - what I really am is a writer," he revealed. 

"I just learned to rap [in addition]," he emphasised, "but what I really am is a writer."

Ko-Jo Cue indicated that should things align in the right direction, he would pen books, after rhymes. 

"So, hopefully, if the universe wants me to do it, I'll get a few books in as well," he said.

Cue is a rapper with enough talent and appeal to thrive alongside the big commercial acts, yet utilising mainstream genres like Hiphop and Highlife, he has deliberately chosen the quieter, more demanding road of conscious music. His brand champions personal and cultural reform, with a strong focus on mental health, as he considers the vicissitudes of the past and modern-day life.
