'It’s an unfounded rumour' – MC Yaa Yeboah on having a child with Kwame A-Plus, why she didn’t go to court

Media Personality MC Yaa Yeboah has said the rumour about she having a child with Gomoa Central MP and entertainment pundit Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) “was not pleasant”.
“To the extent that when I went to America, someone came to ask me a question about it,” she added, speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo.
Ruffled but demonstrating restraint, she said, “Let me choose my words carefully. It’s an unfounded rumour, baseless rumour, with no truth to it.”
She appealed to the public to cease the attacks on social media regarding the rumour.
“There’s absolutely no truth in that,” she emphasised.
The entertainment pundit lamented the “vicious pattern or cycle” of “somebody coming in to taint” the image of people who are on the rise in the media industry “especially [when] it’s a female,” with rumours about sexual scandals.
Notwithstanding, Yaa declared she owed Ghana no accountability concerning her sex life since it was not a matter of national taxes.
She indicated ordinarily, since “I’m a grown woman and I make decisions for myself, and I will take 100 per cent accountability for my decisions,” she would not have bothered with rumours about her except that “some of these rumours spread widely and people pick and repeat them under my social media posts”.
Legal action
MC Yaa Yeboah said in view of the defamatory nature of the stated rumour, she once reasoned to go to court.
“I really wanted to [go to court] but after consideration I noticed it’d be a waste of my resources and especially because the one behind the rumour is not in this country. I thought about it but then again decided to let it go,” she revealed.
She, however, noted, “maybe henceforth that’s the route we’ll take”.
