Kweku Darlington'll take GHS90k to perform at political event but won't record campaign song yet

Singer Kweku Darlington has revealed the amount of money he will take to perform at a political event.
He spoke to Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Class 91.3 FM's Saturday afternoon entertainment programme Class Xtra.
The Sika Kankan hitmaker said, music "is my job," and since "I'm a businessman," he will honour an invitation to perform for any politicial candidate as Ghana goes to the polls on December 7.
The only thing he was not yet prepared to do, he explained, was recording and releasing a campaign song. He indicated this was a great risk which could have severe consequences for his "young" career, since it would be received as an open and emphatic political statement.
"I could say, your excellency since it’s you who is asking for this service, give me only GHS80,000 or GHS90,000 to perform. I’ll go perform and if another party calls, I’ll do same," the Sika Aba Fie hitmaker said.
"The only thing I will not do is the campaign song because in that case you’ve limited and put yourself in a box".
"If I’ve concluded all I have to do in music, I can take huge amounts, 40 billion, 50 billion, and do a campaign song. However, I’m not yet where I need to be and I would not like to put myself in that box.
"If you book me for a performance where I will sing my own song, I will definitely make an appearance," he stressed.
Grateful to Your X is Kweku Darlington's latest offering.
