Marriage isn’t bought in a shop so stop putting pressure on women to marry – MzVee

Ghanaian musician MzVee has asked people to stop putting pressure on women, particularly mature female celebrities to get married since, in her view, marriage is not shopped for.
“It’s not a nice feeling to be pressured in that sense because it’s not something you can go and shop for: you can’t shop for a man; you can’t shop for a woman; it’s something that comes with time and everybody’s timing is different, so, please take it easy on some of us”, she told Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM’s mid-morning show Ayekoo Ayekoo on Thursday, 14 October 2021.
“On social media, some people say that: ‘You’re growing old, get married', ‘When will you get married?’, ‘Be here and be boasting [about] this and not get married’ but I don’t pay attention to those people”, she noted.
At the end of the day, she pointed out, “it’s my life, it’s her life – whoever it is – and they decide whatever they want to do with it and marriage is not the end of the world, so, yes, everyone’s timing is different”.
