Medikal advocates against substance abuse, shares personal experience
Ghanaian rapper Medikal has publicly opened up about his past struggles with drinking and smoking, urging young people to stay away from substance abuse and remain focused on their goals.
In a recent social media post, the award-winning artiste, who serves as a Red Means Stop Ambassador, stated that his message is not based on perfection but personal experience.
According to him, he once engaged in drinking and smoking, but later realised that those habits did not contribute positively to his life.
“I’m not speaking from perfection, I’m speaking from experience. I used to drink and smoke, but trust me, it won’t help you grow.
Quitting was one of the best decisions I ever made,” he shared.
Medikal emphasised that giving up those habits helped him refocus and make better life choices.
He encouraged his followers, especially the youth, to stop smoking, drinking excessively, and engaging in drug use, describing such behaviours as self-destructive.
The rapper’s message forms part of the broader Red Means Stop campaign, which promotes discipline, responsible living, and personal development.
