Barely a week old, the song affirms the 2023 BET award winner's unyielding dominance on radio and on the charts as African pop music breaks more barriers.

The 21-year-old is currently also number 1 on the Apple Music Top 100 Ghana chart.

Oh No is an anthem produced by RBA's in-house talent Samsney, with additional production by Joker Nharnah. The Highlife, Soul and Drill song sees Sherif emphasising his resolve. As he navigates dark and cold times, his eyes are set on his journey's end, success with a mic in hand.

“It feels like me standing at the edge of an open-pit but I know the resultant effect of the very next step at that moment in time.

"I chose to live my life devoid of any fear of falling into the pit. There are voices around and within; pushing me. Either to direct my next step away from the pit or have me fall into this deep abyss.

"Oh No is a reaffirmation to my destiny and my calling. It’s me defining who I am, what I have believed in and basking in the work I have put in thus far,” the BET International Best Flow winner explained.

Black Sherif began the year with the release of a double single dubbed: Take Care of Yourself Blacko, containing instant hits Yaya and Simmer Down, which are self-care songs advocating the habit of taking time off to enjoy nature as one reflects and seeks healing of mind, soul and body.

Since 2022's release of his debut album, The Villain I Never Was, Black Sherif has solidified his place as one of Africa’s most powerful creative voices and amassed massive global streaming numbers, making him the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of 2022 (Spotify) and the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time (Boomplay). Black Sherif has reached these pinnacles in record time, seeing as he only burst onto the mainstream in 2021 with First Sermon. Eulogised as 'the voice of the youth' by Akon, Sherif is an integral part of the new sound emanating from Africa.
