Samini hopes Black Sherif remains relevant and bigger at 45
Veteran Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artist Samini has expressed admiration for the rapid rise of Black Sherif, saying he hopes the young star remains relevant and even more successful at age 45.
Speaking in an interview on GTV on February 18, Samini said Black Sherif’s journey reminds him of his own early years in the music industry, when he experienced fame, success, and international exposure at a young age.
“I would love to see Blacko at 45, still relevant and bigger than he is now, because that’s my story,” Samini said.
“I was young when I saw everything — the money, the attention, the opportunities.
When I see him, I just hope he continues to grow and stay focused.”
The award-winning artist noted that Black Sherif’s energy and stage performance bring back memories of his own sold-out shows during his breakthrough years.
According to him, he sees great potential in the young musician and believes there is much more to come from him in the future.
Samini also reflected on a major turning point in his career — his first international performance in London in 2004 — which he said broadened his understanding of the global music scene.
