Shatta Wale has unveiled the cover art for his upcoming album named 'Gift of God (GoG)'.

The cover art displays a golden coin which has on its bottom arch area the inscription: ‘Gift of God’. Opposite that are seven stars and in the centre of the coin is an image of the iconic portrait of Shatta Wale wearing a headwrap which he recently informed Paul Adom Otchere on Good Evening Ghana “is my best picture in my life now.”

“This picture gave me a revelation of who I can become, if I am more of myself and it gave me that picture of Mansa Musa,” the reggae/dancehall star explained.

He narrated the look was inspired by an epiphany: “I had this turban on one day in front of my dressing mirror – you know I’m spiritual, so I was having this feeling that, you know, ‘Get serious [because] this is going to take you far’.”

"It is an image of Mansa Musa," he further indicated to Paul and spoke of the historic figure's wealth.

The West African king Mansa Musa (Musa I of Mali) is regarded as arguably the richest man who ever lived.

According to education.nationalgeographic.org, while on pilgrimage to Mecca, the muslim king made a stop in Egypt where “while in Cairo, [he] met with the Sultan of Egypt, and his caravan spent and gave away so much gold that the overall value of gold decreased in Egypt for the next 12 years.”

Over the years, the Ghanaian artiste Shatta Wale has insisted he is the richest musician in Ghana and taunted several music colleagues as poor.

The ‘On God’ hitmaker is also noted for random cash giveaways to his fans.

While protesting taxes and what he described as an unwarranted and unwelcome intrusion by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), he was asked where he keeps his money.

“I share it [my money] to people, the fans. We share it on the streets," he informed the Good Evening Ghana audience on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

The feverishly anticipated 'Gift of God (GoG)' album, according to Shatta Wale, has taken three years to finish.

It is out on 17 October 2022, on which day Shatta Wald turns 38.
