Musician Shatta Wale has reacted to an Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) statement which informed the public that a "2019 Lamborghini Urus" in his fleet was acquired via "the proceeds of the criminal enterprise of one Nana Kwabena Amuah who is currently serving an 86 month sentence for several financial crimes in the US".

"From my house, you came to take the car and everything. You never spoke about any Nana Amuah or something. Why do you want to spread lies into the brains of the people that Nana Amuah sold the car to me and that's why you're investigating the matter?" Wale passionately quizzed, asserting innocence.

He emphasised that the car he bought for "US$150,000" without knowing who shipped it to Ghana, was not sold to him by Nana Amuah.

He said he had shown documents to prove his legitimate ownership of the car to officials of EOCO, too, despite highlighting that he habitually was uninterested about the original owners of cars he bought.

"So don't come and give me a case," he firmly said.

"You came to my house because of Adu Boahen. Now, you've changed the whole matter so it looks like... Right now because you are not able to use Adu Boahen to get the car, right now [according to you] it was from some Nana Amuah."

"Don't lie to the people. We're tired," he wagged his finger sternly.

During the live social media broadcast, Wale insinuated he was threatened by EOCO Executive Director Raymond Archer and that he had become a victim of "abuse of power". 

"As I got to your office and you brought up Adu Boahen's matter and I said I didn't know him, right now you say the car is a stolen car, and they shot someone in it, and brought it to Ghana, so they [authorities] are looking for the car," Wale explained.

The Shatta Movement (SM) boss said the EOCO boss expressly warned him if he did not submit to his investigation into "all the cars Adu Boahen has given me, and I'm hiding, if I don't show them, he'd give me to the FBI and whatever".

The singer maintained absolute innocence, and added that, according to Archer, Adu Boahen had revealed he changed Shatta Wale's car "every six months.

"He watched my face and told me that if I want to go down with Adu Boahen, he doesn't give a f**k about it."

"The approach he gave me that day was the scariest thing that [has] traumatised me up till now," Wale revealed. "But I've kept my cool."

"I told you that I am a third party to the car. So if you're telling me that the car is for Adu Boahen, I don't know," he noted.

"I'm not doing anything bad to fear anybody in this country because I'm just a hustler. I'm just working hard," Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, asserted.
