The Hague African Festival '24: Trigmatic makes a statement for Ghana music
Before Ghana's rap star Trigmatic took to the The Hague African Festival stage, he was "super excited".
At the end, the 40Under40 2024 nominee remarked, "it was an exchange of vibes and energy".
He spoke exclusively to Class News' Prince Benjamin (PB) after he thrilled the audience gathered at Zuider Park Theatre, Sunday, July 28.
According to the well travelled singer-songwriter, his international fans "love songs like Show Me Your Love, Where We Dey Go, Motromodwo, and many others".
"The African elements that blend with all genres in my songs speak to everyone," he explained.
In an interview with The Hague African Festival, Trigmatic said: “My roots are the foundation upon which I build my songs. While I blend various genres to create a unique sound, my culture always remains prominently present.”
The multiple award-winning media and music personality "will be in Germany, Belgium, France, and hopefully Spain" next after his momentous stop in The Kingdom of the Netherlands (Holland).
Meanwhile, after a four-year break, the annual The Hague African Festival has made a comeback. Trigmatic being on the roster demonstrates the curator's confidence in his crowd-charming abilities and their respect for his Pan-African ideals.
When it was last organised, in 2019, The Hague African Festival recorded a fantastic performance by Kenya's Sauti Sol.
A fixture since 1986, the African Festival has been held in The Hague (Den Haag) since 2010.
Nteasee Foundation, led by Augustina 'Ms Aba' Austin, organises The Hague African Festival. Nteasee's goal is to bridge Africans and Dutch. Nteasee, a Ghanaian word of Akan origins, aptly means understanding.
"The festival brings people from diverse background together in a unique way. It is one of the few events where you can find a combination of live music, food, and fashion for all ages," Ms Aba explains.
