Entertainment
Wendy Shay has clocked two years in the music industry

Rufftown record signee, Wendy Shay, has shown a different side to her creative self by experimenting traditional rap music in her latest joint featuring “Atta Adwoa” hitmaker Bosom Pyung.

The song, coupled with its video, reflects a young lady’s urge to see her lover, who, perhaps, had been away for a long time.

The song, whose melodies ride on a slow tempo, made way for Bosom Pyung to spit his traditional rap bars in sync with the theme of the song.

The video was directed by Yaw Skyface, with sound production credits to Chensee Beatz.

In marking two years of her presence in Ghana’s music industry, Wendy Shay expressed her excitement in surviving the industry so far. She thanked her fans for being the reason she was still existent.

She posted via her Instagram page: “There have been times when I forgot to thank you for being there for me. I take this day to tell you guys how special y'all are and how great life has become because of #SHAYGANG. Happy 2 years to us all ? Emergency is out now! @bosom_pyung #QueenShay #ShayGang #Rufftownrecords. Vid.Dir. @yawskyface Beat @chenseebeatz @bullet_rufftown @kasaprekogh

Wendy Shay made a grand entry into the music industry after the demise of Ebony Reigns with her debut single ‘Uber Driver’ on 1 June 2018 on Rufftown Records, the same record label Ebony was with until her death.

Wendy Shay has since not rested on her oars, serving back-to-back hit songs; Astalavista, Shay on You, All for you, Masakra, Bedroom Commando, Stevie Wonder featuring Shatta Wale and Kut It among others.

Known in real life as Wendy Addo, the ‘Shay Gang’ boss also produced her debut ‘Shay on You’ album within the period.

She has also won numerous awards in Ghana such as Breakthrough Act of the Year (3 Awards – 2019), New Discovery of the Year (VGMAs – 2019) and New Artiste of the Year (Ghana Music Awards – UK – 2019).
