Basketball star Dwayne Wade, his wife movie star Gabrielle Union and their daughter Kaavia who is famous on social media because of memes made out of her striking facial expressions since she was a baby, have been spotted in Ghana.

The Black American family was received at the Kotoka International Airport.

Wearing kente sashes around their necks, the couple, towering over their 4-year-old child, watched a gorgeous display put up by a Ghanaian cultural troupe that greeted them.

Members of the cultural troupe performed acrobatics for the Hollywood family and others, including a child and some women in traditional clothes, predominantly kente, danced Adowa to some energetic drumming.

Social media has reacted in excitement to the news of Dwayne and his family coming to Ghana. The words 'Dwayne Wade' and 'Gabrielle Union' are trending on Twitter as at the time of this publication with others referencing, with pictures, their meme-famous daughter Kaavia.

Ahead of their visit to Ghana, the globe-trotting family was in Zanzibar, Tanzania. There, Gabrielle marked her 50th birth anniversary.

She wrote this on Instagram in view of the day’s surprise celebration organised by her husband: "I’m still processing the level of effort and planning that went into pulling off such an unbelievable 50th birthday party in Zanzibar, Tanzania and keep the details a surprise from my nosy self.”

“I’m beyond grateful for all of my loved ones who flew around the world to celebrate with me. How Dwyane Wade, Ronnda Rocks Events and Daunie Daune got the Lisa Lisa [of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam fame] to come all this way to perform was unreal,” she noted divulging details.

“Thank you Lisa for being so amazing to my mom and reminding me that your childhood heroes can turn out to be as lovely as you imagined them. I’m just floating on gratitude and to know this is just our 1st stop on the #wadeworldtour2022 [globe emojis] Edition. I’m the happiest seasoned gal around,” the movie star concluded.

Attached to the post was a video of the birthday celebration including footage of dancers and singers indigenous to Tanzania performing.

According to bleacherreportshop.com, the Wade World Tour “is a collaboration between Dwyane Wade and Bleacher Report. Each “tour date” is connected to an iconic moment, achievement or memory from Dwyane's career.”

The couple were in Europe in August as part of the tour.

They arrived in Ghana this morning, Monday, 31 October 2022.

Last week, R&B superstar Ashanti hinted at visiting Ghana in December.

Meek Mill is also slated to perform in December at Afro Nation.
