Wodemaya sparks controversy with remarks on NPP supporters

Popular Ghanaian YouTuber, Wodemaya, has ignited controversy after making remarks perceived as critical of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters.
In a Facebook exchange, Wodemaya suggested that NPP supporters "can’t be wise," sparking widespread backlash and intense debate across Social Media platforms.
The comments, seen by many as divisive, were made in response to a post about the recent arrest of Democracy Hub protesters.
Wodemaya, known for his content focused on African development, expressed disappointment in his initial post, writing, "This is not the Ghana we know."
This prompted a reaction from Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme, who pointed out that similar incidents had occurred in Kenya, the home country of Wodemaya’s wife.
Unhappy with the remark, Wodemaya replied, "Judging from your cover photo, I was not expecting anything wise from you."
Mr. Ofosu Nkansah's cover photo features NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, leading many to interpret Wodemaya’s comment as a direct attack on supporters of the NPP.
The remark has drawn significant criticism, with many accusing Wodemaya of insulting the intelligence and political views of NPP members.
The backlash from NPP loyalists has been swift, with many taking to social media to express their displeasure and demand an apology from the YouTuber.
Some have dismissed his comment as a personal opinion, while others have accused him of using his platform to belittle a large segment of the Ghanaian population.
The incident has fueled ongoing discussions around political divisions in Ghana, with supporters of the ruling party defending their affiliations and criticizing Wodemaya for his inflammatory remarks
