Wutah ‘dead and disbanded,’ says Kobby Wutah as he rules out reunion
Ghanaian Hiplife and Afropop duo Wutah will not be making a comeback anytime soon, according to member Kobby Wutah, who has declared the group permanently dissolved.
On Monday, February 9, 2026, the musician, born Kobby Morrison, made it clear that any hopes of another reunion are unrealistic.
“Wutah is dead, disbanded and I don’t see any reuniting soon or ever,” Kobby Wutah told Graphic Showbiz in an interview.
His comments may disappoint fans who had welcomed the group’s 2017 reunion, eight years after their initial split in 2009.
During that comeback, the pair released songs including AK47 and Bronya, and performed at several events, fuelling expectations of a long-term return.
However, the renewed partnership did not last.
Their former management, Paradise Management, attributed the second breakup to irreconcilable differences.
Kobby said revisiting the group is no longer part of his plans, stressing that his focus is firmly on his solo path.
“Wutah is an old chapter of my life. We tried it once in 2017 and we couldn’t survive because of different interests and vision, so my goal is to focus on my solo career. The solo journey has been challenging but also a great experience for me. I am enjoying it because of the freedom to create and grow on my own timeline,” he explained.
Despite his experience, Kobby noted that music groups can still be beneficial for emerging artistes, though success depends on unity and shared goals.
“It’s a yes-and-no answer. Yes, because there is strength in unity, shared responsibility and division of labour. Members of a group complement each other. As they say, two heads are better than one,” he said.
“On the other hand, it doesn’t work all the time if there is no shared vision. Individuals may be in agreements, but over time, interests change, which is normal for many personal or circumstantial reasons. All in all, if you want to go far, go together. If you want to go fast, go alone,” he added.
