Yellow Lamborghini: Shatta Wale detained by EOCO over alleged tax evasion

The management of Charles Nii Armah 'Shatta Wale' Mensah Jr has confirmed the Dancehall artiste has been detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
According to a post by Public Relations executive Sammy Baah Flex, Shatta Wale was detained today, Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
"This follows an inquiry related to tax obligations on the purchase of a yellow Lamborghini vehicle," Flex explained.
"Mr Mensah presented himself voluntarily at the EOCO offices this afternoon along with his Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations."
Sammy Flex assured fans that the singer-songwriter and record producer's "legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter".
He added the legal team was "taking all necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity".
He urged the Shatta Movement family and all well-wishers to "remain calm and avoid any speculation," explaining that the team had "utmost confidence in the judicial process".
"Management and his legal representatives will return to the EOCO offices tomorrow morning to continue these discussions," the Flex noted.
He assured, in conclusion, "We will provide further updates as appropriate."
