A/R: Ejisu-Krapa accident leaves one person dead and 30 others injured
A fatal road traffic accident at Ejisu-Krapa in the Ejisu municipality of the Ashanti Region has left one person dead and 30 others injured
The accident occurred at about 11:40 a.m. on the Kumasi–Ejisu stretch when a Toyota commercial vehicle, with registration number AS 3552-20, collided head-on with a Ford commercial vehicle, registered AW 3264-21.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving several passengers critically injured and triggering a swift rescue effort by bystanders and eyewitnesses at the scene.
All the victims were rushed to the Living Waters Hospital in Ejisu for urgent medical attention.
Confirming the incident, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Gabriel Sakyi Kwofie, said 31 passengers were brought to the facility following the crash.
He confirmed that one person died from injuries sustained, while the remaining 30 victims are currently on admission, receiving treatment.
Dr Kwofie further disclosed that two of the injured are students, adding that they are responding well to treatment and are in stable condition as they recover from the incident.
