A/R: Kejetia market to be shut down for 3 days for structural integrity

The New Kumasi Kejetia Market in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region which was gutted by fire is to be shut down for three days to allow for structural integrity tests to be conducted on the market.
The decision was arrived at after the management of the market met with the leadership of the trader's association at the suggestion of the Regional Minister.
The Chairman of the Federation of Traders Association, Nana Akwasi Prempeh, informed the media after the meeting with the management of the market.
He said the market will be opened for traders whose shops were not affected to pick items they will want to pick from their shops today at noon.
For the three days that the market will be shut down, he said the affected traders will be allowed three hours each day from 9 am to 12 pm to salvage their property from their shops.
