The Central Regional Coordinator of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP), Mr. Ebenezer Abeiku Essien, has called on apprentices across the region to remain focused and committed to their training, stressing that success in life is not limited to formal education.

During a working tour of the Assin Central Municipality, Mr. Essien highlighted that trades such as make-up artistry, fashion design, electrical engineering, and auto mechanics can provide rewarding and sustainable livelihoods.

He urged apprentices to take their practical training seriously, noting that entrepreneurship and vocational skills serve as strong pillars for personal and national development.

Mr. Essien further reminded the trainees that the government continues to make significant investments in vocational and technical education, and as such, beneficiaries must exhibit discipline and dedication throughout their training.

He cautioned that apprentices who abandon their programmes may have their sponsorship funds reclaimed from their parents or guardians.

Some apprentices in the municipality expressed gratitude to the NDC government, particularly President John Dramani Mahama, for fulfilling his campaign pledge to expand support for technical and vocational education and training (TVET) under the National Apprenticeship Programme.

On behalf of the regional apprenticeship leaders, Mr. Asare Osuman, founder of Classic Design and Training Fashion, commended President Mahama for his commitment to skills development and urged the government to sustain the initiative by providing adequate tools, materials, and logistical support to trainees.

He also encouraged apprentices to stay focused and make the most of the opportunity to build successful and independent careers.
