Ashanti Regional Minister commends contractor for progress on Agogoso School project
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has commended the contractor executing the Agogoso D/A Primary School project for the pace of work, with the project nearing completion well ahead of schedule.
Belco Heavy Machinery and Construction Limited was awarded the contract to construct a modern six-unit classroom block for the school in the Atwima Mponua District.
The project is intended to ease classroom congestion and provide a better learning environment for pupils.
Although the contractor was given 32 weeks to complete the project, the works have reached 95 per cent completion after just 12 weeks.
During a site inspection, Dr Amoakohene praised the contractor for the progress made and urged other local contractors to emulate the same level of commitment and professionalism.
However, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work on another project at Nyinahin Senior High School.
He directed the District Chief Executive to submit weekly progress reports on that project and other ongoing developments, warning that the government would not accept delays in the delivery of critical educational infrastructure.
The Chief Executive Officer of Belco Heavy Machinery and Construction Limited assured the Minister that the remaining works on the Agogoso project would be completed ahead of the contractual deadline and be ready for handover.
