C/R:Kasoa taskforce commissioned to rebrand town

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency in the Central Region, Madam Philis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has reaffirmed her commitment to transforming Kasoa into a vibrant and crime-free industrial hub.
She made the remarks during the official commissioning of the Awutu Senya East Municipal Taskforce, an initiative designed to help rebrand the township and decongest its Central Business District.
Madam Okunor said the newly launched task force is a key step in repositioning Kasoa as an attractive destination for investment and youth employment.
She pledged to spearhead a comprehensive revitalisation of the town, aimed at boosting its image and turning it into one of the most enviable municipalities in Ghana.
“I envision a Kasoa that is clean, safe, and economically active—one that draws investors and provides jobs for our youth,” she stated.
“This can only be achieved through a collective effort involving all stakeholders.”
The MP urged taskforce members to remain dedicated, professional, and results-oriented in their operations, highlighting the critical role they play in achieving the municipality’s broader development goals.
Also addressing the gathering, Municipal Chief Executive Mr Seth Sabah Sewornoo-Banini assured market women and traders that the task force is not being deployed to harass or intimidate them.
Rather, he said, the initiative aims to organise the marketplace, ease congestion, and foster a more efficient and inclusive trading environment.
“The goal is not to frustrate anyone, but to improve the system for the benefit of all,” he emphasised.
Taskforce Commander, Nana Adeiso Asupram IV, cautioned his officers to maintain integrity, discipline, and transparency in their work.
He warned against acts of corruption and abuse of power, adding that their activities must serve the collective interest of residents and businesses.
