The government of Côte d’Ivoire has maintained its farmgate price for cocoa at 2,800 CFA francs per kilogram for the 2025/26 main cocoa season, equivalent to approximately GHS3,600 per 64kg bag.

In a press statement, the Coffee-Cocoa Council announced that the guaranteed farmgate purchase price of 2,800 F CFA (about GHS 56) per kilogram will remain unchanged across the entire national territory until March 31, 2026.

The Council said the fixed price is aimed at ensuring stability and predictability for cocoa farmers during the main campaign period.

It further reminded stakeholders that under existing regulations, buyers are required to complete full payment for delivered cocoa within a maximum period of one month from the date of effective delivery.

According to the statement, any failure to comply with the minimum guaranteed price or the legal payment deadline will attract sanctions as prescribed by law.

Côte d’Ivoire remains one of the world’s largest cocoa producers, and its pricing decisions are closely monitored across the sub-region, including in Ghana, where cocoa plays a critical role in the economy.
