DCE pledges to complete all ongoing infrastructure projects in Afigya Kwabre South by Dec 2026
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, Patricia Pearl Ankrah, has pledged that every infrastructure project initiated under her administration will be completed by December 2026.
The district is currently undertaking about 16 major infrastructure projects aimed at improving the livelihoods and well-being of residents.
The projects include the construction of classroom blocks, modern markets, mechanised boreholes, healthcare facilities and police posts to enhance access to essential services and strengthen community security.
Ms Ankrah made the commitment at Ebom Bomfa during a week-long community engagement tour across the district.
The initiative was organised to update residents on ongoing and completed development projects, as part of the District Assembly's efforts to promote direct public accountability.
The town hall-style tour began on Monday, 22 June 2026, with visits to Adwumakase and Aduman. It continued with engagements at Wawase/Sweduro and Kyekyekyerase before concluding on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at Aboabogya and Ntiri Buoho.
The engagements brought together traditional authorities, community elders, Assembly and Unit Committee members, youth groups and other residents.
Ms Ankrah also outlined the Assembly's long-term development agenda for the next four years. The plan includes the construction of eight health centres, two primary schools, two junior high schools, two kindergartens and 120 mechanised boreholes.
To support the implementation of these projects, the DCE appealed to the Chief of Ebom Bomfa to facilitate the acquisition and demarcation of land for future developments.
She also called on residents to support the Assembly's development agenda, stressing that cooperation and unity would be essential to achieving the district's development goals.
