Defence Ministry bids farewell to former Director of Research and Defence Co-operation

The Ministry of Defence has formally bid farewell to its former Director of Research and Defence Co-operation, Madam Marian Bansaon, in recognition of her years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the Ministry’s work.

At a ceremony held in her honour, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, paid glowing tribute to Madam Bansaon for her commitment, professionalism and leadership, particularly in advancing research initiatives and strengthening defence cooperation frameworks.

Her tenure was described as instrumental in enhancing evidence-based policy development and fostering strategic partnerships critical to national defence.

Speakers at the event highlighted her role in coordinating key research programmes, supporting defence policy formulation, and promoting collaboration with both local and international partners.

They noted that her work contributed to improved decision-making and reinforced the Ministry’s capacity to respond to emerging security challenges.

In her remarks, Madam Bansaon expressed gratitude to the leadership and staff of the Ministry for the support and cooperation she received throughout her service.

She encouraged her colleagues to remain dedicated to the Ministry’s mandate of safeguarding national security through innovation, research and collaboration.
