Domelovo backs Addison must go campaign
Mr Daniel Domelovo, the former Auditor General of the Ghana Audit Service, has thrown his weight behind the campaign led by Minority Members of Parliament (MPs) aimed at ousting Dr Ernest Addison, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, for his alleged mismanagement of the central bank's affairs.
Mr Domelovo's endorsement of the campaign stems from his desire to bolster confidence in the nation's economy.
He expressed firm belief that the removal of both the Bank of Ghana's Governor, Dr Ernest Addison, and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, is necessary to instilling renewed trust in the economy, even amid ongoing dealings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
During an interview on Accra-based Joy FM's mid-day news programme on September 21, 2023, Mr Domelovo expressed his support for the demands put forth by both Minority MPs and the 98 Majority MPs for the dismissal of the central bank's head and the Finance Minister respectively.
He believes that such a change in leadership within the economic realm will rekindle confidence in Ghana's economic prospects and ultimately foster growth.
In Mr. Domelovo's view, the prevailing lack of confidence in the economy can be traced back to the two individuals occupying key positions in the government's economic machinery.
