E/R: Firefighters swiftly contain trailer blaze on Accra-Kumasi Highway
A potentially devastating fire involving a MAN TGX26 trailer was swiftly brought under control by personnel from the Bunso Fire Station on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Friday.
The trailer, which was transporting bottled water, caught fire along the busy stretch, causing a temporary traffic snarl. Firefighters responded promptly to the distress call and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further.
Thanks to the timely intervention, 70% of the trailer’s cargo was successfully salvaged.
No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the swift response of the Bunso Fire Station has been widely commended for preventing what could have been a far more serious situation.
