Final funeral rites for late Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah this weekend in Koforidua
The final funeral rites for Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, former Minister for Defence and immediate past Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
A public announcement from the Presidency confirms that the ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 noon at Jackson’s Park in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.
The event is expected to draw family members, government officials, party executives, and members of the general public to honour the late statesman.
Dr. Omane Boamah tragically passed away in the military helicopter crash that occurred on August 6, 2025.
The accident claimed the lives of all eight people on board.
The fatal incident involved a Harbin Z-9EH military helicopter (tail number GHF 631) operated by the Ghana Air Force.
The crash resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking government officials and military officers, including:
