GWL to shut down Dodowa Booster Station for 24-hour maintenance
Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced a 24-hour shutdown of the Dodowa Booster Station to carry out planned maintenance works aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of water supply.
In a statement issued on Monday, July 7, the company said the maintenance will begin on Thursday, 9 July 2026, and last for 24 hours.
GWL said the exercise is intended to improve the operational efficiency, reliability and sustainability of the water supply system.
The shutdown will result in temporary water supply interruptions or reduced water pressure in communities served by the Dodowa Booster Station.
The affected areas include East Legon, Adjiringanor, Ashaley Botwe, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, Frafraha, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Ashongman, Dome, Dodowa and surrounding communities supplied by the station.
The company advised residents in the affected areas to store enough water before the maintenance begins and to use available supplies carefully during the period.
Ghana Water said its engineering team would work to complete the maintenance within the scheduled timeframe and restore normal water supply immediately after the works are completed.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation during the exercise.
