Global InfoAnalytics poll tips NDC’s Baba Jamal to win Ayawaso East by-election with 75%
A latest opinion survey by Global InfoAnalytics suggests a strong lead for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary hopeful, Baba Jamal, ahead of the Ayawaso East by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The poll, carried out from February 28 to March 1, sampled 972 registered voters within the constituency. Results indicate that Baba Jamal commands a substantial advantage over his closest rival, Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the survey figures, the NDC candidate is projected to secure 75 percent of the vote, while the NPP’s Baba Ali is tipped to obtain 21 percent — a gap that places the opposition party in a dominant position going into the polls.
Independent aspirant Umaru Sanda Muhammed, who previously aligned with the NDC, is forecast to attract about 3 percent of ballots cast.
The other contenders, Ibrahim Iddrisu and David, are each predicted to receive less than one percent support.
The impending by-election follows the passing of the area’s Member of Parliament, Mahama Naser Toure, who died in January while undergoing medical care at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
