Iddrisu and Sukparu recovering at 37 Military Hospital, Parliament extends well wishes following road accident
The Parliament of Ghana has expressed deep concern over a road traffic accident involving two of its senior members: the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Adam Sukparu.
The accident occurred on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road on Wednesday, February 12, 2026.
In an official statement, Parliament commiserated with the two ministers and extended sincere sympathy to their families, constituents, and the general public, acknowledging the shock that the incident may have caused.
According to the statement, both ministers have been airlifted to Accra and are receiving medical treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.
They are reported to be in stable condition and responding positively to treatment.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, along with parliamentary leadership from both sides of the House and several members of marliament (MPs), visited the ministers at the hospital to offer solidarity and support on behalf of the entire House.
Parliament concluded by extending its heartfelt wishes for a swift and full recovery for both ministers and reassured the public that there is no cause for alarm as the necessary medical care continues.
