The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the timely payment of allowances owed to National Service Personnel across the country, announcing measures to speed up the clearance of outstanding arrears.

In a press release issued on February 17, 2026, management assured personnel and stakeholders that concrete steps are being taken to settle all verified payments and support service members during their service year.

According to the authority, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has already advanced funds to cover two months of allowances, with disbursement processes currently underway.

However, the NSA explained that recent delays stem from an ongoing verification exercise being conducted by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).

The process, it said, is necessary to ensure accuracy and maintain financial integrity before final payments are made.

Management acknowledged the patience and resilience of service personnel during the period and emphasised that their contribution to national development remains valued.

The authority added that all verified and legitimate arrears are expected to be cleared by the close of the week. It also pledged to provide regular updates through its official communication channels.

The statement was signed by Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh.
