Nsiah-Asare gets 1-year job extension

Dr Nsiah-Asare was due for retirement this year.
According to the Public Policy Act, any person of retirement age can have his/her contract extended up to five years.
The extension was communication in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo.
The letter, which was written with reference to an earlier letter written by the GHS Council dated 6 May 2019, stated: “I am pleased to inform you that the president has granted you a one-year extension of service as Director-General of the Ghana Health Service effective 23 May 2019 to 22 May 2020.
“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your extension of service”.
It directed Dr Nsiah-Asare to “kindly indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this extension of service within fourteen days of the receipt of this letter.”
