#OccupyJulorbiHouse demo: 3 people sacked by their employers – Vormavor

Mr Oliver Baker Vomarvor, the convener of the #FixTheCountry Movement, has disclosed that three individuals who participated in the well-known #OccupyJulorbiHouse (Jubilee House) protest have been dismissed from their jobs.
According to him, these individuals, comprising two men and one woman, received their termination letters due to their involvement in the viral videos that circulated on social media during the protest.
Mr Vomarvor made this revelation while discussing the case of Miss Nasiba Bawa, one of the protesters who had raised concerns about the shortage of dialysis treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital during the protest.
He shared this information during an interview on the Citizen's Show hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
He expressed his concern about the challenges faced by some participants who had been advocating good governance in the country.
One case he cited involved an individual who was dismissed by their employer but was directed to seek employment from the movement's convener, he said.

He recounted an incident in which an employee at Frontiers, based at Kotoka International Airport, was coerced into distancing himself from the movement's activities to avoid dismissal, following concerns expressed by Jubilee House staffers about the involvement of the Frontiers employee.
He assured that the leadership of the movement remains undeterred by such actions on the part of employers in the country.
Nasiba Bawa, a Masters' graduate from the School of Communication Studies at the University of Ghana, had her employment terminated 48 hours after her interview with Joy News during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest went viral.
