A/R: Missing girl, 7, found dead in bush
A 7-year-old girl has been found dead after she got missing at Fawode in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti region.
Benedicta Gbadi Arhen got missing for a day and a search was conducted for her whereabouts but could not be found.
Her father, Gbadi Baba Evans, told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah that she got missing on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, after her mother sent her on an errand in the afternoon.
A search, he said, was conducted while announcements were made through information centres and on radio stations after a report was formally lodged at the Mampongteng District Police Command and the regional police headquarters.
She was found dead on Thursday, September 10, 2020, in a bush at the Asanteman Bɔfoɔ Junction near Christ College and very close to their residence.
Blood was oozing out of her ears and ribs when the body was found.
The father suspects the daughter was murdered.
Mr Gbadi called on the police to swiftly investigate the case and bring the perpetrators to book.
Mr Kwaku Daniel, Unit Committee Chairman for the area, said this was not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area.
A 50-year-old man, during the lockdown, was also found dead at the same place.
The incident, he said, has put fear in the residents, and, therefore, called on the police to heighten security in the vicinity.
