Ashaiman: 3 men found dead with tongues, eyes removed
The mutilated bodies of three men, two of them security men, have been found at different locations in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region on Sunday.
They have been identified by the police as Ibrahim Bagada Sumaila, Joshua Afuugu and Kobina.
A situation report by the Police said: “At the Police Hospital, a preliminarily examination unearthed that deceased persons, Ibrahim Bagada Sumaila, 70; and Kobina, have their tongues cut off while Joshua Afuugu, 35, had his left eye removed.”
All three of them had their heads covered with a cloth with blood oozing from their orifices, suggesting “some organs have been removed from the head part.”
While transporting the first body, the police said it got reports of the murder of another security man at the Kasapreko warehouse opposite Ashaiman Senior High School.
The police “went there and saw another watchman only known as Kobina, 70 years, murdered and his face covered with his clothes. During critical examination, it was detected that part of his head had been removed but the Kasapreko warehouse was devoid of any break-in.”
Then reports came in of a third body at Talaku near Ashaiman roundabout.
The police said they went there and “saw one Josuah Afuugu, 35 years, also murdered and his clothes used to cover his head.”
Although the police said Mr Afuugu was not a security man, he slept in front of a glass shop called SOFAAMY. “Critical examination on his body also unearthed an eye removed but no shop was tempered with. All the three bodies were conveyed to Police Hospital for preservation and autopsy.”
