Canadian girls kidnap: Four suspects freed

Four of the eight accused persons standing trial for allegedly kidnapping two Canadians in Kumasi have been freed.
Mr Seidu Abubakar, alias Mba; Mr Abdul Nasir, Mr Safiano Abubakar and Mr Abdul Rahman Suleimana, aka Wofa, were discharged after the Attorney General substituted the charge sheet with a new one, the state-owned Daily Graphic's website reported on Friday, 18 October 2019.
Senior State Attorney, Ms Hilda Craig, told the Accra High Court on Friday morning that the Attorney General decided to free the four after reviewing the case docket following investigations.
With the substitution of the charge sheet, the accused persons left standing trial are Mr Samson Aghalor, aka Romeo; Mr Elvis Ojeworye, Mr Jeff Omarsar and Mr Yusif Yakubu.
They have been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping.
