NDC confident ahead of December 30 Kpandai rerun
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is optimistic about its chances going into the December 30, 2025, parliamentary rerun in Kpandai, pointing to insights gained from earlier rerun contests in places such as Ablekuma North and Akwatia.
this follows a Global InfoAnalytics survey realesed on Sunday, December 14, 2025, indicating a tight race, with NPP’s Matthew Nyimdam polling 50 percent, slightly ahead of NDC’s Daniel Nsala Wakpal at 46 percent. Independent contender Donkor Eric Nipani is projected to secure 1 percent, while 3 percent of voters remain uncommitted.
With the rerun drawing closer, both major parties have stepped up campaign activities across the constituency, intensifying voter engagement efforts as the closely followed contest approaches.
speaking to Class News on Monday, December 15, the party’s Deputy Director of Elections, Mahdi Jibril, stated that the NDC has put in place early and strategic arrangements to safeguard the integrity of the upcoming poll.
He called on all key actors, particularly the Electoral Commission (EC), to apply lessons from past reruns to ensure an orderly voting exercise that fully complies with constitutional requirements.
The fresh election was ordered after a court decision set aside the original results in Kpandai, paving the way for a fiercely contested rematch between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
