Daughter of Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive allegedly killed by armed robbers

In a tragic incident, Akua Serwaa Kyei, a 32-year-old daughter of the Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive, was allegedly murdered by armed robbers at her residence in Bebu-Tabre, Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region.
The unfortunate event took place on Thursday evening, August 3, 2023.
According to Mr. Isaac Owusu, the husband of the deceased, they both left home around 10 am, each heading to different destinations.
Later, at approximately 12 pm to 1 pm, Akua called her husband to inform him that her plans for the day had encountered obstacles, and she was returning home.
Upon his return around 5 pm, Mr. Owusu discovered that their doors had been forced open, and several possessions, including their television, were missing.
While inspecting the house, he found Akua's lifeless body at the back of the residence.
Mr. Owusu emphasised that his wife had not suffered gunshot or stabbing wounds, leaving the cause of death a mystery.
He has entrusted the investigation to the police, who have already started looking into the incident.
The body of Akua Serwaa Kyei has been conveyed to the Bekwai Government Hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
